Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Civil Litigation

We routinely assist clients with contentious matters and ensure that we guide them to the most commercial resolution. Where possible we endeavour to pre-empt issues that may arise in an effort to minimise their impact. If litigation is required we provide a proactive and bespoke approach to each dispute that we deal with. We advise on various areas of civil litigation including:

  • Property and Business Disputes
  • Contractual Disputes
  • Landlord and Tenant
  • Insolvency
  • Trust and Probate Disputes
  • Civil Fraud

International Arbitration

We have an extensive international arbitration practise. We are experienced in advising on resolving disputes relating to overseas investments. Disputes often arise when a government or government agency interferes with property rights of foreign investors. We have advised clients in relation to disputes of this type utilising the services of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington DC, the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, the London Court of International Arbitration and we have also constituted various ad-hoc tribunals.

Commercial Litigation

We are experienced in advising clients on various areas of commercial litigation including the following:

  • Banking and Financial Disputes
  • International Commercial Disputes
  • Professional Negligence
  • Shareholder and Partnership Disputes
  • Sports-related Litigation

Alternative Dispute Resolution

We understand that going to court is not always the client’s preferred option. In this respect we are experienced in resolving disputes by mediation and other means of alternative dispute resolution. Where possible we endeavour to resolve matters through alternative dispute resolution before commencing proceedings.
